Monophonics is a prime example of the talent spewing forth from the streets of San Francisco and the musical standards set by the Bay Area for many decades. Since forming in 2005, Monophonics has become the hottest funk band in the Bay Area with their retro sound, style, and approach stemming from the late 1960’s and 1970’s. Winners of SF Weekly’s “Best of the Bay” Award for Funk/Soul/R&B band and featured in Relix Magazine’s “On The Verge” column, a new album and tour will ensure that 2010 is the breakout year for the band.
Grillade
In an era where artists' careers begin and end in the blink of an eye, Grillade (pronounced "gree-YAHD") is building for the future. The psych-rock / soul band from San Francisco is made up of Ragen Fykes, Keelay and renown San Francisco rhythm section The Park. And as talented as each act is on their own, when Grillade gets together, the sum is greater than its parts. Equal parts Led Zeppelin and D'Angelo, the group is brewing and new sound that you must hear to believe.
